Offerbeest reveals «Master»
Every year in recent memory, Gnaw Their Tongues‘ mastermind Maurice de Jong can’t seem to not astonish us with his seemingly endless inspiration to craft a myriad of sonic horrors of all shapes and forms. This year alone, there’s been a split of Gnaw Their Tongues with Bismuth, debut records by Caput Mortuum and Hagetisse, Pyriphlegethon‘s second full-length, the return of De Magia Veterum, and new sci-fi madness from Cloak of Altering.
Yet, what we want to talk about today is his recent power-electronics outfit Offerbeest, whose first release «Black Teeth» came out on February. It is rather telling that being a fan of any of the above-cited projects does not immediately guarantee one’s receptiveness to the bleak electronics of this new beast. Below, listen to the project’s new composition, entitled «Master». Whether or not «Master» will be part of a future release as yet to be revealed.
Further recall Offerbeest’s slightly unsettling debut «Black Teeth».
Further listening: with the exception of the Gnaw Their Tongues split with Bismuth, all aforementioned records (and many, many more)can be listened to and acquired in digital (and sometimes physical) format at this location.
Listen to Lento’s «A penchant for persistency»
It’s been a while since Lento released music. The Italian quintet’s latest offerings were 2012’s full-length «Anxiety Despair Languish», released by the mighty Denovali, and 2013’s split with Tons, released by Heavy Psych. Later this week, Consouling Sounds is set to release their fourth full-length, aptly titled «Fourth» and which is bound to rank as the band’s strongest and most cohesive sounding collection of songs thus far. Its first track, «A penchant for persistency», can be streamed via Invisible Oranges at this location.
«Fourth» is set for release through Consouling Sounds on October 6 in LP and CD formats. Pre-orders are available at this location.
