Black industrial pioneers MZ.412 are set to release their first album since 2006’s «Internal Affairs». Entitled «Svartmyrkr», the new album is said to be “dedicated to the true hell of the north – Hellheim – and the giant goddess that rules it, Hel.” The press release goes on to describe it as featuring their usual elements, such as “blackened ritual incantations,” “bleak yet beautiful dark ambient arrangements,” and “harsh bombastic orchestrations.” Ahead of its release in early February, «Svartmyrkr» can be heard in its entirety below.
Written, recorded, and produced by the band between 2015 and 2018, «Svartmyrkr» features an appearance by Swedish musician Kristoffer Oustad on guitars in its tenth and final track, «Lokastafr Ablaze With The Thorns Of Death», as well as additional “atmospheres and vibrations” by recurring collaborator Siegfried Meinertz. The artwork seen above was authored by Axel Torvenius.
«Svartmyrkr» is set for release on February 8 by Cold Spring on cd, digital, and vinyl formats. Pre-orders are available at this location.
