2020 was a hell of a year for Ulver and for once we are using the expression in a positive sense. After all, the band not only released the acclaimed, and rightly so, «Flowers Of Evil», but the «Wolves Evolve: The Ulver Story» book, featuring 150 pages of interviews with the band conducted by writer Tore Engelsen Espedal, as well as other pieces on the legacy and history of the Norwegian ever chameleonic collective. One of the most memorable singles from «Flowers Of Evil», the addictive «Machine Guns And Peacock Feathers» has been receiving remix treatments as of late. The last of which was done by French synth wave master Carpenter Brut and can be heard below.
«Machine Guns And Peacock Feathers (Carpenter Brut Remix)» was released on January 22 and is available here on digital format.
A bit more than a month before, a first extended remix done by British musician Youth was made public and can be heard below.
«Machine Guns And Peacock Feathers (Extended Youth Remix)» was released on December 4, 2020, and is available here on digital format.
To listen to the original version in its natural setting, nothing like a revisit to «Flowers Of Evil».
«Flowers Of Evil» was released on August 28, 2020, by House Of Mythology and is available here on cd and vinyl formats and here on digital format. Moreover, the record can be purchased alongside «Wolves Evolve: The Ulver Story» at this location, with the book also being available separately here.
