Ahead of its release later this month, the new collaboration between Stave (alias of Jonathan Krohn, of Talker) and Karim Maas (alias of Thomas Cooper). This story starts with a joint live set with other labelmates in Bristol, following a suggestion by UVB-76 co-owner Nick Callagham, and a “shared interested in both Birmingham-influenced techno, as well as forward-thinking bass and breaks music.” The result was the two musicians “pushing rhythm tracks and loops back and forth from their home studios based out of Chicago and Bristol,” and finds them “in fine form – it’s a cinematic, richly detailed recording that represents some of their best material to date.” Fine form indeed, as you can confirm by listening to the whole collaboration, entitled «Godless», below.
«Godless» is set for release on September 24 through UBV-76 on digital and vinyl formats. At the time of writing, the vinyl edition is already sold-out, although the digital one can still be ordered here.
