It took a bit longer than initially anticipated (see this piece), but Verwoed will soon be releasing their second full-length, «De Val». As explained in its press release, we can expect something “at times twisted and disorienting, at times meditative and defiant,” with the album further described as a “sprawling demonstration of superb abstract black metal despondency.” Below, you can listen to the second track from «De Val», entitled «De Kwelling van het Bestaan». The gorgeous artwork embellishing the stream and set to feature on the record’s cover was created by Joost Vervoort, the frontman of fellow Utrecht based black metal collective Terzij de Horde.
«De Val» is set for release on May 23 by Argento Records, Sentient Ruin Laboratories, and Tartarus Records, on vinyl through the first two and on cassette format through the latter. Pre-orders are available here, here (digital and vinyl), and here (cassette).
Below, further recall the record’s self-titled opener, released approximately a year ago.
