Black metal outfit The Deathtrip has announced the forthcoming release of «Demon Solar Temple», their second album. The new offering will be their first with original singer Kvohst, who had previously left the band before their 2008 demo and has recently replaced Aldrahn in one might as well describe as a reverse Dødheimsgard. Now described as capturing “the spirit of ancient Darkthrone, Thorns, and Beherit imbued with old-English occultism and the chanting of sacred sound formulas,” for a time, it was an album that wasn’t assured to be released. As the press-release explains, as guitarist and composer Host started crafting the songs to succeed «Deep Drone Master», Aldrahn departed the project to focus on his new venture, Urarv. It was only in 2018 that “talks began with the band’s original vocalist, Kvohst, about the prospect of returning. Ideas were put in motion for a new journey into the spectral realms, under Kvohst’s masterfully crafted narration. Something deeper and more ritualistic, meticulous, and magical started to grow. An entirely new and potent dimension was conjured around the tracks as they assumed their final form in early 2019.” Below, you can listen to the album’s first single, «Abraxas Mirrors».
«Demon Solar Temple» is set for release on November 15 through Svart Records and Profound Lore on cd, digital, and vinyl formats. Pre-orders are available here, (cd and vinyl, Europe), here (vinyl, US), here (cd, US), and here (digital).
