Black death duo Bölzer have set the release date of the «Lese Majesty» EP, their first solo release in three years. The press-release contextualises it by stating that over the course of their existence, the band has been “attracting positive and negative attention alike with their unorthodox approach to a genre fraught with surprisingly conservative dogmas and often outdated elitism,” adding that with their “sparse instrumentation, melodic vocals and generally progressive style, they are no strangers to being strange.” As for the release in itself, it is said to resume “where the bombastic romanticism of «Hero» left off” and that it rings “true of it’s namesake, the uncompromising voice of an heretic granted contemporary audience.” Below, listen to the record’s opener «A Shepherd In Wolven Skin», whose lyrics you can find at this location.
«Lese Majesty» is set for release on November 15 through the band’s own label, Lightning & Sons,on cd, digital, and vinyl formats. Pre-orders are available here (Europe) and here (US). A couple of days before the album’s release, Bölzer will begin an European tour whose dates can be found here.
