Kohti Tuhoa to release «Elä Totuudesta»

Finnish punks Kohti Tuhoa are about to release a new EP titled «Elä Totuudesta» (“Live the truth”), following up on their 2019 LP «Ihmisen Kasvot». Per its press release, the new record “has a strong classic-Finnish-hardcore feel to it,” while also showing the band “breaking with tradition and bringing in more experimental elements in the closing track «Vesi virtaa»”. Alas, the confirmation of that last statement will have to wait, as the two tracks made available are the opener «Taas Sivussa», which you can stream below, and the title track, which you can find further below.

Recorded and mixed by the band, «Elä Totuudesta» was mastered by Jack Control from Enormous Door. The artwork, seen above, consists of a painting by Jaakko Karjula, who continues to be responsible for the art of each of the band’s releases. As for lyrical themes, the new EP “revolves around personal struggles and gender equality with the powerful vocal work underlining every word, even spotlighting problems within the punk scene.”

«Elä Totuudesta» is set for release on May 15 through La Vida Es Un Mus on 7” vinyl and digital formats, both of which are available for pre-order here.
