Liverpool label God Unknown is preparing a series of releases in the early days of 2021, following a 2020 which saw them release works from the likes of Twin Sister, White Hills, and Bushpilot. The first of the upcoming releases is part of «Singles Club: Vol. 4» split series the label started back in 2019. In this entry, the pastoral droning rock of The Left Outsides meets the minimalist ambient of Mésange. The former contribute with «My Reflection Once Was Me», which you can hear below, taken from their 2019 LP «A Place To Hide». The Mésange song, entitled «Uninhabited Spirit», was recently premiered by Shindig! by way of a video by Shanna Charles, which you can also see below.

A week later, another entry in the series will see the light of day by way of a split between Petbrick and USA Nails, with none of the compositions having been made available so far. The final entry of the Singles Club series announced so far will see Deafkids meet Gum Takes Tooth with Wayne Adams.

Outisde of the singles club, the label has already announced a split and a collaboration. The first is between T. Gondii and Sex Howitzers, two recently formed Dutch hardcore bands. Below, you can listen to a track from each side to get an impression of what will happen in the thirteen-track 7”.

The last upcoming album we’ll mention today is «We Travel Time», a collaboration between two extremely renowned artists in James Johnston, of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds fame, as well as a former PJ Harvey collaborator, and Steve Gullick, known for his work as a photographer and for having toured as a guitarist for Mark Lanegan and Soulsavers. One hauntingly beautiful song from their album, called «Stormy Sea» has been released. You can listen to it below.
