Tomorrow, Norwegian post metal quintet Heave Blood & Die is releasing its third album, entitled «Post People», in which the band tackles issues of climate change and capitalism by way of imagining “these anarchistic, enlightened people set in a 1984-esque, post-apocalyptic universe, struggling to survive under various circumstances,” as bassist/vocalist Karl Pedersen explained in a New Noise Magazine interview. The album’s opener and first single, «Radio Silence», was released in a video by Brage Pedersen, which you can see below. From the instrumental, to the video, to the “western media kills with radio silence” line, one is reminded more of post rock legends Godspeed You! Black Emperor than of the doom and metal oriented predecessor «Vol. II».
The album’s second single, «Metropolitan Jam», hints at yet another direction, with the song heading through a post-punk meets krautrock landscape, as you can see in the video by Annika Linn Verdal Homme below.
The final single is album closer «Post People», which you can also see below in a video by Brage Pedersen and Annika Linn.
The three songs can also be streamed through bandcamp below, with the embedded player set to include the full album as soon as it is made available for stream.
«Post People» is set for release on February 5 by FysiskFormat and is available here on digital and vinyl formats. Below, listen to its predecessor, «Vol. 2».
«Vol. 2» was released on 2018, by Blues For The Red Sun and is available here on digital and vinyl formats.
