Well, that was quick. After the longer than usual seven year long silent period between Paysage d’Hiver releasing «Das Tor» and «Im Wald», it’ll take not much more than a year for its follow-up to be released in the form of «Geister». In the upcoming album, the ever-present character of the Paysage d’Hiver overarching tale of a journey through winter, the Wanderer “has a lucid dream in which he meets beings from another dimension.” Does this mean that Paysage d’Hiver is suddenly dealing with some pan-dimensional creatures? It always has, since the beings from another dimension are from our own and to the Wanderer, we “appear as the ghosts.” In order to contact the character, one must use “the rites of winter, such as the Tschäggättä, which is a traditional mask cult from the Lötschental, a valley in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Such a hereditary mask is depicted on the album cover and the lyrics are set in the local dialect.” Below, witness the gorgeous cover of «Geister» and listen to its first single, its blistering second track «Bluet».
«Geister» is set for release on April 23 through Kunsthall Produktionen and SPKR on cd, digital, and vinyl formats. Pre-orders can be found here.
