Ungfell announce «Es Grauet»

Ungfell, the Swiss masters of black folk punk are back with their third album «Es Grauet». In this concept album, the band tells a story of “moral ambivalence and treachery. Set in a seemingly idyllic rural village in pre-modern times, all is not as it seems. Tragedy strikes the town in form of a horrific, grisly murder. Unfounded accusations lead the town further astray, while these occurrences of debauchery exceed the comprehension of the local inhabitants. Alas, evil lurks where you may least expect it…” The duo from the Helvetic Underground Committee has never been this ambitious, leading to the upcoming record to have more “warm production values, emphasizing atmosphere even more than previous releases and managing to compliment the story being told.” Besides the core duo of Vâlant on drums and Menetekel on everything else (recording and mixing included), the album features guest vocals by Kerebros, of fellow H.U.C. bands Arkhaaik, Dakhma, and Lykhaeon; as well as guest jodeling by Anna and cello by recurring guest Chimael. Below, listen to the second chapter of this tale, «Tyfels Antlitz (Wie e Huerä zwei Chind empfanget)», and behold the artwork crafted by Robbie C. Ward.

«Es Grauet» is set for release on April 30 via Eisenwald on cd, digital, and vinyl formats. Pre-orders for cd and digital copies are available here, whilst the vinyl orders will be made available closer to the release date.
