Guillaume Cazalet has been a busy artist over the last few years, releasing solo work under his CZLT alias, being a founding member of the fantastic experimental collective Neptunian Maximalism, and releasing black metal as Ôros Kaù. His newest endeavour is called Sol Kia, a collaboration with singer/lyricist Stephane Van Tricht, which is set to see the duo explore psychedelic black metal territories in their debut «Zos Ethos». As its press release explains, it is “essentially an inner probe slowly lowering into esoteric waters. Dark and abrasive riffs constantly shatter against Guillaume CZLT’s majestic architectures of drones, Middle-Eastern melodies and industrial sounds, cinematic in scope and sapiently orchestrated, while Van Tricht’s tortured invocations and lyrics bear witness to the deep distress of living a life without purpose or hope.” Below, witness «Sulfur», the album’s first song.
«Zos Ethos» is set for release on September 3 through I, Voidhanger on digital and vinyl formats, whose orders can be placed here and here. The album further features guest vocals by the ever prolific Déhà and has the piece «Different Ways To Infinity» by Félix Luque Sanchez (2013) as its artwork.
