German composer N and Canadian one-man ambient/drone band thisquietarmy got together back in June 2019 for a live performance in Cologne and a studio session in Duisburg. While this collaboration was fruitful, its studio result will only be out later in 2022 as «Zerfall / Zerfallen», which was recorded by Kokomo drummer Tobias Stieler. Afterwards, a track was recorded with Tobias joining Hellmut and Eric on drums. However, “it never got mixed and mastered. Instead thisquietarmy and N decided to send the single guitar and drum tracks to some close friends and Midira family members. So the never hard track got deconstructed and reconstructed by Dirk Serries, Tom Malmendier, The Star Pillow, S A R R A M, Aidan Baker, the Hypnodrone Ensemble collective and of course by thisquietarmy and N.”The result will be out later this month and the Hypnodrone Ensemble deconstruction and reconstruction of the fabled track can be heard below.
