The recent and distinctive activity of the Mallorca punk scene with the likes of Orden Mundial, Pou, and Pena Máxima is getting to the point of warranting a name, that of nuevo sonido balear. Well, the sonido balear is getting a new practitioner in Barrera, whose debut is said to be “filled to the rim with lust, sex, power and distortion. Their songs are slow and acid, with a tortured tone that would make Gloom or Brainbombs cry.” Moreover, one should be able to trace a musical path as “laid by Stickmen With Rayguns or Flipper,” but “firmly rooted in Spanish punk with Desechables as a clear point of reference, both aesthetically and sonically.” Two first examples can be garnered below by way of «Como Tu Ninguno» and «Visiones Nocturnas».
