It’s here and holy shit, it’s gloriously heavy.
The sixth full-length from The Body, «I Have Fought Against It, But I Can’t Any Longer», titled after an excerpt from Virginia Woolf‘s suicide letter is now officially out via Thrill Jockey.
As per the press release, in «I Have Fought Against It, But I Can’t Any Longer», The Body eschewed their traditional compositional method of building tracks from guitars and drums and instead based them on samples. This more electronic approach has been paired with many a guest performance by Michael Berdan, Ben Eberlre, Kristin Hayter, and Chrissy Wolpert (a more detailed run-down of this participations can be read here). «I Have Fought Against It, But I Can’t Any Longer» is available in cd, digital, and vinyl formats here and here.
