Abyssous to release «Mesa» on their way to Never Surrender

Formed in 2011, German death metal power trio Abyssous quickly captured the ears of those yearning for a combination of old-school song-writing and production styles with an asphyxiating flair. So much so that their 2012 debut demo «…Smouldering» would, a year after, be turned into a full-fledged LP, with a couple of additional interludes and tracks, and released by none other than Iron Bonehead. The same label is now set to release their new EP, «Mesa», in November.

Unlike its predecessor, where slabs of tortuous death metal would flow into one another, «Mesa»’s death metal offerings are intertwined by unsettling interludes. Below, you can listen to its relentlessly heavy sixth track, «Ocaeon».

«Mesa» will be released on CD and vinyl formats by Iron Bonehead on November 1. That same day, at 4:50 PM CET, the trio takes their death metal to the stage of Never Surrender Fest. Recall that the festival, about which we wrote here,  jointly curated by Iron Bonehead and Nuclear War Now! takes place in Berlin between November 1 and 3 and will feature names such as Blasphemy, Black Cilice, Vassafor, and Xibalba. The festival’s running order is available here, while tickets are still available here (IB) and here (NWN!).

Finally, note that Abyssous’ first LP «…Smouldering» is still available in digital format at this location.
