The ever prolific Mories has a new project of synth-heavy dark droning black metal. It goes by the name of Golden Ashes and after the release of a digital-only demo last year, «The Desolation» (see end of piece), its debut album, «Gold Are The Ashes Of The Restorer», will be out in a couple of weeks through Aurora Borealis Recordings. Both its opener, «The All Consuming Light Of Eternal Dread», and its third self-titled track can already be heard and suggest a heavy incorporation of the ethereal qualities he explored in Seirom in a groove laden black metal setting.

The record’s press release further describes the project as “the black chaos of despair and hopelessness calls through the mist. A dreamlike descent into the realm of death. A mystified swansong to the days of hope. A dark return of myths through the dying light. Eternity admired through the eyes of the dead. A restorer of all things abandoned by light and life.
