Legendary grindcore outfit Napalm Death has announced the release of the mini-album «Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes». “Intended as a ‘partner’ to their 2020 album «Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism», this new abbreviated effort from the pioneering grindcore outfit sports previously unreleased material and covers.” As vocalist Mark Greenway explains, “we had long since wanted to put a mini-album out – in the spirit of the old days – and found we had enough quality tracks even all the «Throes…» bonus tracks to do that. Hopefully this mini holds some nice twists in its own right.” Besides original Napalm Death material, the soon to be released effort also contains a cover of «Don’t Need It» by Bad Brains and «People Pie» by Slab!, the latter of which “made us really stretch ourselves, which feels great artistically,” as Greenway explains, before concluding with “in the end, resentment is certainly seismic – it can trigger the complete erosion of humanity in many situations. That was the point that I really wanted to hammer home overall.” Below, listen to the opening track of the forthcoming mini-album, «Narcissus».
« Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes» is set for release on February 11 by Century Media on cd and vinyl formats. Pre-orders can be found here.
