It is by now no secret that we are intensely anticipating the release of «Why Aren’t You Laughing?» by Dutch quintet GOLD, something we’d argue is a natural consequence of the impact left by its first two singles «He Is Not» and «Why Aren’t You Laughing?» and their respective videos. We are now less than two weeks away from the album’s release and a third single has been unveiled. The song is called «Taken By Storm». Its video, which you can watch below, was made by Bart Kalkman. The video further features the first appearance of the band’s new bassist Leyla Overdulve, who recently replaced Tim Meijer.
The video was originally unveiled by post-punk.com in this piece, which also features comments by the band’s Thomas Sciarone regarding the black metal overtones in the climax of «Taken By Storm» and Milena Eva on their relationship with live performances and the way they tried to convey that feeling in this new video.
«Why Aren’t You Laughing?» is set for release through Artoffact Records on April 5 on cd, digital, and vinyl formats. Pre-orders are available here and here.
Recall GOLD will be touring Europe upon the release of «Why Aren’t You Laughing?». The tour is bookended by appearances at Roadburn and Hellfest. All dates can be seen below, event details can be found here.
